Your monthly rental at StorageMania includes:

You supply your own padlock and key — no one else, including our staff, can access your unit. A refundable deposit and a one-time R100 admin fee are required upfront, and all prices are quoted including VAT. Full breakdown in our pricing guide.

We accept three payment methods:

• EFT — bank transfer to our account
• Card payment — debit or credit card on-site
• Debit order — automatic monthly deduction

Please note we do not accept cash. Your first month's rent, refundable deposit, and R100 admin fee are due before move-in. Monthly rent is then due on the 1st of each month. Debit order is the most popular option with our tenants because you never need to remember a due date — we can set it up in a few minutes during move-in. Yes. StorageMania is located in the heart of Philippi Industria, Cape Town's established industrial precinct — directly opposite the SPAR Distribution Centre and a short distance from Pick n Pay Distribution Centre and Block & Chisel. This is a high-activity commercial zone with constant logistics traffic, making it one of the better-monitored stretches of the greater Philippi area.

Our facility is additionally protected by:

• Perimeter fencing

Every tenant is issued their own lock and key — no one else, including our staff, can access your unit. Since opening in 2013, we've maintained a clean security record and earned a 5-star rating from over 250 tenants. Philippi Industria is a working industrial precinct and should not be confused with residential Philippi in terms of security profile.

For the safety of all tenants, the following items are prohibited:

• Flammable liquids and gases (petrol, diesel, propane)
• Explosives, fireworks, or ammunition
• Perishable food items
• Toxic or hazardous chemicals
• Illegal substances of any kind
• Living things — plants or animals

The right unit size depends on what you're storing. As a general guide:

• 3×3m (9 m²) — fits the contents of a single bedroom: boxes, small furniture, appliances, and personal items. Ideal for decluttering or short-term moves.
• 3×6m (18 m²) — fits a full 1–2 bedroom home including couches, beds, appliances, and 20–30 boxes. This is our most popular unit.
• 6×6m (36 m²) — fits a 3+ bedroom home, large business stock, or vehicles including cars, boats, and trailers.

Yes. StorageMania offers dedicated outdoor parking space for cars, bakkies, trailers, and motorbikes — see our full vehicle storage page for open, shaded, and in-unit options (R990–R1,500/mo).

Boats are handled separately: most boats on trailers don't fit inside a standard unit, so we run a dedicated covered boat yard at R1,500/mo. The outdoor space is covered by the same 24/7 security guards and HD CCTV surveillance as the rest of the facility, so your vehicle is fully protected.

Most tenants move in within 24 hours of requesting a quote. Once your deposit is paid and paperwork is signed, you receive your own lock and key and can begin loading immediately.

StorageMania's drive-up access means no lifts, corridors, or trolleys — pull up directly to your unit and start unloading. Whether you're moving from a home, office, or another facility, we make the process as fast as possible.

Yes — every unit at StorageMania has drive-up access. Pantechnicon trucks, bakkies, and trailers can reverse directly to your unit door for easy loading and unloading.

No lifts, no narrow corridors, no carrying boxes through a multi-storey building. This saves time, reduces the risk of damage during transit, and means you can often move in with a single trip rather than multiple loads.

One month's written notice is all we require. No lock-in contracts and no mid-month cut-off rules — just give us a month's heads-up and we'll schedule your move-out inspection.

A quick email or WhatsApp message is enough to start the process. Once your unit is emptied and inspected, your refundable deposit is returned via EFT within 7 days, provided the unit is left clean and undamaged. Deposit amounts are detailed in our pricing guide.
