Self-storage in Cape Town usually ranges from R450 to R5,000+ per month depending on unit size, location, and security level. Below is everything we charge at StorageMania in Philippi Industria — no hidden extras, no asterisks, no "from" prices that don't exist. All figures include VAT at the rate administered by the South African Revenue Service.[1]

What's Added on Top of Your Monthly Rent

Discounts & Ways to Pay Less

We don't run a fixed discount table — every customer's situation is different — but these are the most common arrangements we put together:

Pay 11 months upfront, get the 12th free

If you know you'll be storing for a full year, pay for 11 months in advance and the 12th month is free. This locks in your rate and protects you from any future price adjustments.

6-month upfront payment

A smaller commitment than the full year, with a better monthly rate than paying month-to-month. Popular with customers going overseas for 6 months or completing home renovations.

Multi-unit business rates

If you're renting 2 or more units for business stock storage, we'll tailor a rate across your units. The more you need, the better it gets.

Referral rewards

Introduce a friend, family member, or colleague who signs up for a unit and both of you benefit on your next invoice. Just tell them to mention your name when they call.

How to get a custom quote

Because discounts depend on unit size, contract length, and how many units you need, we quote each arrangement individually. Call 083 937 5048, send a WhatsApp, or click "Get a Quote" above.

How to Pay

We accept three payment methods — whichever is easiest for you:

Please note: we do not accept cash. First month's rent, refundable deposit, and R100 admin fee are all due before move-in. Monthly rent is due on the 1st of each month thereafter.

How Our Prices Compare

Self-storage in Cape Town varies widely — here's rough market context for a 9 m² (3×3) unit:

We sit in the middle of the market — priced for honest value, not budget cut corners or premium markup. Our Philippi Industria location means we pass on lower rental costs versus a Sea Point or Claremont facility without compromising on security — the Cape Town metro industrial-rental differential versus prime suburban and CBD precincts is tracked quarterly by Rode & Associates in their Rode's Report on the South African Property Market.[2] More context in our Philippi Industria safety FAQ.

Summary — Total First-Month Cost Example

If you rent a 3×6m (18 m²) unit — our most popular size — your first invoice looks like this:

From month 2 onwards, you only pay the R2,490 monthly rental. That's it — no surprises.
